Time to register for kindergarten
ENCINITAS — Kindergarten registration for the Encinitas Union School District 2013-2014 school year begins in February.
Specific dates and times for registration at each school are available at eusd.net/Parents/Pages/RegistrationInformation.aspx. Contact school sites directly for hours of registration.

Mandatory Dual Language Program meetings will be held March 14 at Paul Ecke Central and March 21 at Capri.
The following information is necessary at the time of kindergarten registration:
— Three (3) proofs of residency within the school attendance area.
— Birth Certificate – Original and one (1) copy (we keep the copy). A child must be 5 years of age on or before Oct. 1 in order to enter kindergarten.
— Two emergency names and phone numbers – other than custodial parents or anyone who lives at the same address with the same telephone number.
— State immunization card
Children are required to have the following immunizations for entry into kindergarten:
— Polio 4 Doses at any age, but three doses meet requirement for ages 4 to 6 if
at least one was given on or after the 4th birthday.
— DPT 5 Doses at any age but four doses meets requirement for ages 4 to 6 if
at least one was on or after the 4th birthday.
— MMR 2 Doses required for kindergarten entry within 4 days of age 1 or after.
— Hepatitis B 3 Doses required.
— Varicella 1 Dose required or documented proof of chicken pox.
Immunizations may be obtained for a small fee at a public
health clinic. Contact the Public Health Department at (760) 967-4401 for the location of the nearest clinic.
When registering students, parents will be asked to complete a registration packet (available at school sites) and provide proof of residence, proof of student immunization and (when enrolling for Kindergarten or Grade 1) proof of the student’s age.
During the summer vacation when schools are closed, packets can be picked up at the District Office, 101 S. Rancho Santa Fe Road, Suite 204, Encinitas, CA 92024.
