Surf museum hosts film festival

OCEANSIDE — The California Surf Museum presents the fifth annual California Surf Festival with three days of classic films Nov. 8, Nov. 10 and Nov. 17.On Nov. 8, there will be a 25-year anniversary tribute to North Shore at 7:30 p.m. with “The Peak, The Dream, The Ultimate Test” at La Paloma Theater, 471 S. Coast Highway 101, Encinitas.

The film stars Matt Adler, Nia Peeples, Gregory Harrison, John Philbin, Gerry Lopez, Shaun Tomson, Mark Occhilupo, Laird Hamilton, Michael Ho, Derek Ho, Hans Hedemann, Mark Foo, Ken Bradshaw, Christian Fletcher and a number of other professional surfers.

Scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at the California Surf Museum, 312 Pier View Way, Oceanside, will be:

— “The Claim: Finding Nelscott Reef” by Erich Lyttle

— “Teahupoo” by Alejandro Quilici

— “Imaginarium” by Transworld Surf

— 
”The Working Man’s Wave” directed by Joey Maiocco

— “Sanuk Surfers” with Matt Meola

— “The Disappearance” directed by Greg Browning

— “Body Glove Surfers” with Jamie O’Brien

— “Summer of Darkness” directed by GT and Michael Muller

— “Holiday Perfect” by Karim Rajeb

The program Nov. 17 will also be at the museum at 7:30 p.m., will include:

— “European Surf Journal” by Peter Sterling

— “Day At The Pool” featuring the Dogtown crew

— “Water Warriors” by Anna Jerstrom

— “Abroad” by John Lynch

— “Follow The Sun – Tribute to International Day Of Surfing”

by Ryan Moss.
