CARDIFF-BY-THE-SEA — Step out for a Summer Evening Walk from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Aug. 15 in the San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve, Santa Carina Trail.The free event brings walkers up close to some animals that live in San Elijo Lagoon as they emerge from daytime slumber at sunset. Explore the estuary with San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy docents. Search for mule deer foraging at dusk and scan for night herons fishing for breakfast.Walks on Santa Carina Trail are held every third Wednesday, monthly through September.
