CARLSBAD — The Beach Cities Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of California is an advocacy organization for the blind.The active and involved group of fun, motivated and motivating people who happen to be blind, vision-impaired and low-vision is gathering for a meeting followed by dinner from noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 11 at Heritage Hall in Magee Park, 2650 Garfield St. Earlier this year, the group has held a Senior Round-Up, Chili Cook-off, beach walks and a kayak day.
From noon to 2 p.m., it will hold an informal meeting for Guide Dog handlers. All who are interested in Guide Dogs, raising puppies or adopting career change dogs. are welcome to attend this free meeting.
From 2 to 4 p.m. will be the chapter meeting. A few upcoming events are a rummage sale, bowl-a-thon, surf camp, its state convention, job and self-employment seminar, and White Cane & Guide Dog Safety Day.
