Museum concert brings summer sounds

CARLSBAD — The Museum of Making Music will welcome singer/songwriter Colin Clyne joins the Museum of Making Music’s Local Flavor Concert Series, at 7 p.m. Aug. 3, which pairs performances from emerging local artists with food and beverage for an intimate concert setting. Clyne, a native of Scotland, plays acoustic guitar-based mix of Celtic, folk and pop music. Tickets are $10 and include a slice of pizza and beverage served at 6 p.m. Order online at www.museumofmakingmusic.com or call 760/438-5996.In addition, Girl Scout campers entering grades two through six are invited to join Musicpalooza! Girl Scout Camp July 30 through Aug. 3, a festival of fun with live music performances, workshops and musical activities. Participants will learn many instruments and new techniques. Campers will build instruments inspired by global sounds and perform in an orchestra with their homemade creations. Scouts will also exercise self-expression through songwriting and will jam with friends in daily percussion activities. The camp concludes with a group composition performed for friends and family.
