Military families get help at back-to-school time

ENCINITAS — Military families in San Diego will get a boost from U.S. Bank as it gathers school supply donations now through July 25 in its San Diego branches, including 131 N. El Camino Real, Encinitas, as part of Operation Homefront’s Back to School Brigade.Operation Homefront is looking for supplies such as backpacks, pencils, pens, folders and calculators. U.S. Bank will also send volunteers to the distribution site on Aug. 4, at the National Guard Armory in National City.

Operation Homefront’s Back to School program will receive the supplies at multiple distribution sites across all of San Diego where their families will be able to come together and network with other military families.

“We are thrilled to partner with Operation Homefront for this event,” said Steve Stuckey, president of U.S. Bank in San Diego. “We take pride in our support of members of our Armed Forces and are honored to return the support of them and provide the kinds of opportunities they work to defend.”
