Rugby scrum to help Ronan’s recovery

CARMEL VALLEY — In support of injured rugby player Ronan Nelson, a benefit communitywide scrum and exhibition games will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. June 9 at Cathedral Catholic High School, 5555 Del Mar Heights Road. Tickets are $10; proceeds benefit Team Ronan Recovery Fund. Buy them online at wepay.com/events/team-ronan-rugby-challenge.There will also be food, rugby gear and autographs by rugby stars including Hall of Fame rugby coach Gordon Tietjens, former U.S.A. Rugby Men’s Eagles Sevens captain Matt Hawkins, USA Eagles players and X-Game athletes.
