Dance and sign at summer theater camp

DEL MAR — The Winston School Summer Academy of the Arts will host a summer camp July 6 through July 24, presenting the musical “Guys and Dolls.”The three-week program lets students choose from visual arts, drama, digital arts or music. Students produce a finished product and integrate their work with artists in other media such as a concert, a performance, or a film premiere. The application deadline is June 30.

The summer arts program gives students the opportunity to film a closed-set production to be followed by a live performance.

The Summer Academy is Monday through Friday from 12:45 to 3:45 p.m. The tuition is $440 per student plus additional materials or trip fee if applicable. Winston students in the regular morning summer school program, which runs June 25 to Aug. 6 are welcome to participate at an additional, reduced cost of $390. Students who enroll a friend not attending the school will get a further discounted tuition of $250. Tuition includes a $75 non-refundable deposit for those who cancel. Note that the Summer Academy does not accept public funds and students and families need to plan for afternoon transportation home.
