OCEANSIDE — The Surfin’ Safari Beach Boys tribute band wrapped up this summer’s free concert series with lively beach tunes at Rancho Del Oro Park Aug. 26. More than 1,000 people enjoyed an afternoon of live music, food and fun.
“It gives families an opportunity to come out and enjoy quality time together,” said Eileen Turk, division manager for Parks and Recreation. “Neighbors enjoy music in the park, fresh air and fun.”
The Two-Tones played Jimmy Buffett and Santana songs in the opening act.
There was also a break for raffle drawings organized by the Oceanside Parks
and Recreation Community Foundation, better know as the Friends of Oceanside Parks. Funds raised from the raffle will help support next year’s summer concerts. The foundation has already raised $5,000 this year and hopes to raise $5,000 more.
