SAN MARCOS — Authorities are seeking a suspect who reportedly robbed a postal center on Aug. 13 at about 11:05 a.m.
An African-American male entered the Postal Center at 218 W. San Marcos Blvd., and looked at items on display until the other customers left the business, according to Sgt. Mark Haynesworth of The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
The suspect then approached a clerk, working behind a window. The suspect slid a Carl’s Jr. bag to the clerk, pointed a handgun and demanded the clerk fill the bag with cash from the register, according to Haynesworth.
The suspect left the store with about $3,000, Sgt. Dan Deece said.
The location hasn’t been a robbery target in the recent past, Deece said, adding that the Sheriff’s Department doesn’t believe the robbery was connected to any other series of robberies in the area. The suspect is described as 6 feet 4 inches tall, 250 pounds and approximately 30 years old.
