Karoake night supports local theater

OCEANSIDE — North County’s general public, business owners and theater buffs are invited to a Costume Karaoke Fundraiser to benefit the newly formed Oceanside Theatre Company, from 4 to 9 p.m. June 5 at Monterey Bay Canners, 1325 Harbor Drive North.
The Oceanside Theatre Company is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization that was formed in the spring of 2011 by Mira Costa College’s Christopher Williams and Kelly Kissinger along with Deborah Dodaro. Besides staging theatrical productions in Oceanside, the company plans on maintaining a youth academy to introduce and develop students’ interests in the theatre arts.
The evening features a $5 cover charge, two-drink minimum. A special “Sunset Dinner” menu for $10.50 is optional. Children 6 and older are welcome from 4 to 6 p.m., adults only thereafter. Attendees may opt to sing for $5, request someone else to sing for $10, match $10 so they don’t have to sing, or pay $5 to make someone stop singing. Props and costume pieces provided.
