OCEANSIDE — Two homicide victims found murdered at a park on May 3 have both been identified as teenagers.
Tip lines have been set up to receive calls from the public for any suspect information.
The bodies of Fernando Felix Solano, 16, and Sandra Salgado, 14, both of Oceanside, were both found on a hillside, at the end of Libby Lake Park near Casa Drive in an area sometimes called Camp Pendleton’s back gate.
When police responded to calls at about 10:30 p.m. for gunshots heard in the area, they found the bodies of the teens.
The causes of death for the pair are still pending autopsies.
The suspect or suspects have not been identified, and detectives have so far been unable to establish a motive, according to acting Oceanside police Capt. Leonard Mata.
The Oceanside Police Department has set up a tip line for the public, where information on the case can be reported anonymously at (760) 435-4910.
Mata said it is a recorded line that can be accessed 24 hours daily.
San Diego County Crime Stoppers also has a number for anyone with any information, at (888) 580-8477. San Diego County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.
