Feeding the Soul Foundation sings for others supper

COAST CITIES — “We were able to raise $1,860 for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Camp for Girls, March 11 with our ‘Raining Jane’ show with surprise guest performance by Jason Mraz,” said Melissa Grove, Feeding the Soul Foundation’s director of events. “We love Rock ‘n’ Roll Camp because it teaches young ladies empowerment through music education. It was an amazing show and we shared it with 150 guests.”
The event even featured artist Jon Marro, who created a piece on site that was auctioned off for $1,000.
“It’s so amazing to be a part of a community that embraces art, music and contribution,” Grove said. “March 30, we teamed up with the good folks of SuperFood Drive and created a Nutrition Awareness event with the beautiful music of The Makepeace Brothers and Matty & Avasa Love. Again our good friend Jason Mraz sang a song and did live art that was auctioned off for $800, which helps to create over 3,200 healthy meals for those who are in need.”
The evening raised $1,760 which can provide 7,200 meals. Feeding the Soul Foundation also asked guests to bring in a healthy item from the SuperFood Drive Shopping List and filled two bins with 304 pounds of healthy food for the North County Food Bank.
