CUSD invites community to high school design team

CARLSBAD — Carlsbad Unified School District seeks applicants for the Sage Creek High School Design Team. The team, which will number 20 to 25 members, will represent various stakeholder groups within the district and throughout the community. Members will work with an internal team, led by Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Suzanne O’Connell, to add definition and details to plans for the new high school at College Boulevard and Cannon Road. Sage Creek is scheduled to open in fall 2013.
The application process, consisting of a simple and brief questionnaire, is being conducted online at zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22C3U5P8J6S/. The application deadline is 4 p.m. April 25. Once a team is assembled, the group will meet approximately once a month through June 2012.
O’Connell says she is looking forward to working with participants from all sectors of the community.
“Obtaining input from the perspective of students, teachers, administrators, parents, higher education and business representatives as well as the general public will help us move forward in what has been a very community-centric process,” she said.
