Personal “fitness trainers,” including speakers and teachers such as Rabbi David Kornberg, Rabbi Matthew Earne, Marilyn Clement, JJ Surbeck of T.E.A.M., Sima Ross, Rabbi Shai Cherry, Richard Lederer, Edith Zelkind, Linda Fredin and Elisheva Edelson, will motivate and guide as attendees stretch and strengthen mind and knowledge and “flex your Jewish muscles.”
Ultrafit offers two weeks of classes on three different tracks; Practical Judaism, Spirituality and Israel. You may follow one track or select several classes. The series begins with the second of the Israel in the Crosshairs speaker series. Executive Director of Christians United for Israel, David Brog, will speak about Why Christians Support Israel. Ultrafit continues daily through March 20.
Classes include topics such as Jewish Views on Lying; Israel Beyond the Conflict; Tikkum Olam I — More Than A Concept; Ethics in the age of Relativism; Torah Study; Havdallah Workshop; A How to on Friday Night Shabbat Rituals; The Gaza War; Esther, God and the Undergrad Atheists; The Gift of Age; Jewish Yoga; Jewish Genealogy; Jewish Cooking; 60 Years of Israeli Music In 60 Minutes; Remembering 6,000,000 Jews Through Song; and 600 Years of Jewish History.
UltraFit will end March 20 with a Traditional Megillah Reading and Purim Carnival with special activities for adults. There is no charge for Congregation Beth Am members and an all-inclusive charge for nonmembers of $18.
