ENCINITAS — The community has been invited to be a part of Encinitas’ history by selecting the name for the city’s newest park.
Encinitas residents are encouraged to e-mail the city or stop by in person to submit name suggestions for the community park being built on the former 44-acre Hall property.
“This is an exciting opportunity for our residents to help name Encinitas’ newest park,” said Parks and Recreation Commissioner Lorri Greene, who chairs the Commission’s naming subcommittee. “We welcome all suggestions.”
You can submit park name ideas via e-mail to the city at firstname.lastname@example.org or in person at the Parks and Recreation Commission meeting at 5 p.m. March 15 at City Hall, 505 S. Vulcan Ave. E-mails must be received by noon March 15.
The new community park will be approximately 44 acres and will include athletic fields, a skateboard park, a dog park, walking trails and other amenities. The top 10 names will be sent on to the Encinitas City Council for the approval of one name. The winner will be invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
