Business and art unite for Thursdays on the Coast

CARLSBAD — Carlsbad Village Association has brought back Thursdays on the Coast: The Experience.
Formerly named the “Artwalk,” the event is a free community affair offering shopping and dining with visual and performing art experiences held every fourth Thursday of the month through Oct. 27.
Included in the fine dining and shopping available will be regional artists displaying their art in galleries both established and newly organized, live art demonstrations and music, along State Street, Grand Avenue and Carlsbad Village Drive.
“Participating sponsors will be open later for affording everyone with the opportunity to explore the downtown and village and The Experience brings a new vitality to the village and creates a fun and engaging evening destination for all,” said Cheryl Ehlers, event manager for the CVA.
Self-guided walking maps will define the sponsor’s locations, existing plus old and new art galleries established throughout the Village of Carlsbad, with all participating venues with specials, and raffles. The event hub for programs and walking maps will be located at HomeLife Village Realtors, 500 State St.
The CVA is continually seeking participants, sponsors and donations. Look for the stores with the Thursdays on the Coast, “Sponsor” logo in their windows for information, or visit www.shopcarlsbadvillage.org.
The CVA thanks the first of a group of sponsors who agreed to step forward and support the event, including The Paradise Cottage, Olde Ivy Antiques, HomeLife Village Realtors, Renaissance, Institute of Music, the new Phantom Gallery and the Oceanside Gallery.
