Police unable to apprehend bank robber

CARLSBAD — Carlsbad Police received an alarm activation from the US Bank at 2520 El Camino Real at 3:58 p.m. on Jan. 31. At 3:59 p.m. an employee from the bank called 9-1-1 and advised the bank had been robbed by a white male adult in his 20s.
Carlsbad officers responded to the bank, established a perimeter and searched for the suspect who fled the bank through the east door. Officers were not able to locate the suspect or his vehicle. The bank employee said the suspect presented a demand note and stated he had a weapon, but did not display one.
The suspect was further described as skinny, with sandy blond hair and wearing a blue baseball cap.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation was notified and responded to the scene for investigation. The loss was undetermined at the time of this release and no injuries were reported.
