Local authors gather for library festival

CARLSBAD — Carlsbad City Library will host its third annual Festival of Local Authors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 12 at the Library’s Ruby G. Schulman Auditorium, 1775 Dove Lane.
The event will be moderated by Carlsbad mystery writer Taffy Cannon, author of “Blood Matters” and the “Booked for Travel” mystery series. It will include local Carlsbad and other North County authors with a panel discussion from 11 a.m. to noon, followed by book sales and signings in the Library’s courtyard until 1 p.m.
The authors, whose works cover a mix of fiction, include
— Joseph Dale Bacarti, author of “Tinera of Viesti”
— Lee Cohen, author of “Nature’s Food for Life”
— Laura Johnston Kohl, author of “Jonestown Survivor: An insider’s Look”
— Bridget Smith, author of “The Unauthorized Legoland Guidebook”
— Joe Tash, author of “Dear Guest, Beware of Wild Monkeys”
— Elin Stebbins Waldal, author of “Tornado Warning: A Memoir of Teen Dating Violence and Its Effect on a Woman’s Life”
— Woody Wilson, author of “The Champagne Taste/Beer Budget Cookbook”
