Four Americans killed by pirates

CNN.com reports that four Americans were fatally shot by pirates who captured their yacht in the Indian Ocean last week.
The Quest was being shadowed by the military after pirates took the shop off the coast of Oman on Feb. 18.
Jean and Scott Adam of Marina del Rey and Phyllis Macay and Bob Riggle of Seattle were found shot by U.S. forces at about 1 a.m. Feb. 22.
A rocket-propelled grenade fired at a U.S. Navy ship approximately 600 yards away and missed. U.S. Navy Vice Admiral Mark Fox told reporters that gunfire could be heard on the boat.
Hostage negotiations were under way according to Fox. No details about the negotiations were available.
U.S. forces killed two pirates in the process of cleaning the vessel and two pirates were found dead onboard. Thirteen pirates were captured.
Dean Boyd, spokesman for the Justice Department, said the United States “is committed to working with our international partners to ensure that the perpetrators of this heinous crime are brought to justice.”
