Article misstated location of sewage spill
This letter is in follow up to our telephone conversation of Jan. 6, regarding the article that appeared in the Rancho Santa Fe News on Dec. 31, titled “Sewage spilled in Fairbanks Ranch.” As we discussed the address of the sewage spill was located approximately two miles from Fairbanks Ranch. The address appears to be located in or near the community of Santaluz.
Our community is located in the unincorporated area of San Diego County in the mailing area of Ranch Santa Fe. Any reports of this nature that are reported by a city of San Diego department would not be relative to the community of Fairbanks Ranch.
When a notice of sewage spills or other matters of a similar nature are attributed to our community it causes undue concern for the health safety and welfare of our residents. We would be happy to confirm any addresses within our community in the event that you have a news article that you would like to verify in the future. Verifying the location of this type of event before publishing can avoid confusion by residents who are concerned about this type of an environmental issue.
If you have any questions regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for your cooperation and consideration.
