ENCINITAS — The pumpkins have been harvested which means it is time for all of the fair princesses, beauty queens, witches, warlocks, ghouls and mischief makers to come out for Trick-or-Treating on Halloween night. From 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31, Downtown Encinitas Merchants Association turns into Pumpkin Lane along South Coast Highway 101 from The Den to the Self-Realization Fellowship Bookstore, featuring carved pumpkins at four different viewing locations. Come view these spectacular displays at Smog Test Only Center at 682 S. Coast Highway 101 and at 3rd Corner Wine Shop & Bistro at 897 S. Coast Highway 101.
Children can play Halloween games as well as dance to the Peanut Butter Cookie Band from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the courtyard of the Lumberyard courtesy of the 101 Artist’s Colony. The many merchants handing out candy will be marked with the DEMA Safe Trick or Treat logo in the window. All along Coast Highway, youngsters will have the opportunity to Trick or Treat from our local merchants starting at 5 p.m. There will be parking at the NCTD Coaster Station lot at D or E Streets and Vulcan Avenue
The pumpkin harvest was unbelievable this year producing pumpkins weighing more than 100 pounds. Once again the monks at Self Realization Fellowship are donating the pumpkins, as well as their time and pumpkin carving expertise to bring Pumpkin Lane to life. Self-Realization Fellowship once again presents the Queen’s Court. The queen will be granting wishes and handing out candy at the Self Realization Fellowship Book Store at 1150 S. Coast Highway 101.
