ENCINITAS — The Encinitas Preservation Association will host the inaugural Boathouses Plus Architectural Tour from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 17. Tickets are $25 and only 1,000 will be sold.
This walkable architectural tour will open the doors of six of the best examples of downtown Encinitas architecture including historic properties, modern masterpieces and the dynamic mixed-use live/work properties of downtown Encinitas. This year’s tour features the famous Encinitas Boat Houses.
Tour participants will be directly contributing by helping fund the important preservation efforts under way with the Encinitas Boat Houses and future preservation efforts in general.
The Encinitas Preservation Association purchased the Encinitas Boathouses for the benefit of all citizens and to be held in the public trust of preservation forever. The Encinitas Preservation Association remains in community partnership and civic gratitude to the following entities for their great assistance in the purchase of the Boathouses: Downtown Encinitas MainStreet Association, Encinitas Historical Society, The Lofts at Moonlight Beach L.L.C., the city of Encinitas and California Community Bank. Also on the tour will be a 1930s downtown beach bungalow home , a masterpiece beach bluff home, the 1883 Encinitas School House, a mixed use architects live work project, and a new mixed use residence in the Pacific Station project.
