LCCHS soccer player to represent USA in Australia

CARLSBAD – La Costa Canyon High School senior Jacob Sachs has been appointed to the Youth Men’s Soccer Team representing the USA at the second Maccabi Australia International Games in Sydney, Dec. 26 through Jan. 2.
Sachs, a resident of Carlsbad, currently plays varsity soccer for La Costa Canyon. Additionally, he plays club soccer with the San Diego Surf and plays a variety of positions for both teams including top of the midfield, outside and forward. Sachs and the Surf were State Cup Semi-Finalists last season.
Sachs is an accomplished honor student who also has participated as member of the speech and debate team at his high school. To help defray the travel costs of the Maccabi USA Youth Men’s Soccer Team, he has developed an online business selling barbecue spices at www.knockoutrub.com.
The games will take place at Olympic Park where many of the competitions took place during the 2000 International Summer Olympics.
Maccabi USA/Sports for Israel is the official sponsor of the United States Team to the World Maccabiah Games, the Pan American Maccabi Games and the Maccabi competitions in Europe and Australia, as well as a co-founder of the JCC Maccabi Games for teens in North America. As the official Maccabi representative in the U.S., Maccabi USA supports Jewish athletic endeavors, enhanced by cultural and educational activities.
