Classical music comes to life at library

CARLSBAD — A study of the life and music of Tchaikovsky is offered free of charge from noon to 2:30 p.m. the first and last Tuesday of each month through December at the Schulman Auditorium at the Carlsbad Dove Library, 1775 Dove Lane, offering interesting, amusing, edifying and delightful lectures and DVD programs.
Programs will include:
— Sept. 28, Opera Appreciation: “Abduction from the Seraglio” by Mozart
— Oct. 5, Music in Your Life: Tchaikovsky’s – 6th
— Oct. 26, Opera Appreciation: “Die Frau ohne Schatten” by Richard Strauss
— Nov. 2, Music in Your Life: Tchaikovsky’s Concerti
— Nov. 30, Opera Appreciation: To be determined
— Dec. 7, Music in Your Life: “Swan Lake”
— Dec. 28, Opera Appreciation: To be determined
