OCEANSIDE — The Center for Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine at Tri-City Medical Center was named “Wound Care Facility of the Year” at the seventh annual International Symposium for Hyperbaric Oxygen and the Future of Healing in July.
The educational symposium attracts Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
physicians and medical practitioners from around the globe and recognizes
organizations and individuals who have demonstrated contributions and
accomplishments in the field of HBOT “above and beyond expectations.”
“Tri-City’s Wound Care Center has consistently maintained a 94 percent healing rate since opening its doors in 2008,” said Paul Haydu, medical director of the
Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at Tri-City Medical Center.
“National averages for healing are only 84 percent but our integrated and multi-
disciplinary approach is making a real difference in our patients’ healing rates and
distinguishes us from the competition.”
Tri-City’s Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine is an outpatient clinic
dedicated to the treatment of chronic, nonhealing wounds. A multi-disciplinary
physician-based clinic, the center offers a range of services including Hyperbaric
Oxygen Therapy, wound care treatment, education and prevention, case
management, vascular testing, and nutrition counseling and education.
