MiraCosta students earn ribbons at fair

OCEANSIDE — MiraCosta College students from the design drafting, art and digital art classes were honored with some of the San Diego County Fair’s highest awards.
In the drafting division at the San Diego County Fair, MiraCosta students won three Best in Show and seven Best in Class awards:
— Denise May, Best in Show/Best in Class, Technical Illustration
— Julie Havlin, Best in Show/Best in Class, 3D Solid Modeling Prototype Projects
— Kyle Rodriguez, Best in Show/Best in Class, 3D Modeling
— Trudy Thompson, Best in Class, Architectural Drawing
— Alberto Ortiz, Best in Class, CAD Architectural Drawing
— Michael Schmidt, Best in Class, Prototypes and Other Design Areas
— Jeff Cramer, Best in Class, Prototypes and Other Design Areas
Students from MiraCosta’s art and digital art classes also received awards, including five Best in Show and four Best in Class ribbons in various divisions:
— Janja Watson, Best in Show/Best in Class, Public Service Advertising
— Carla Van, Best in Show/Best in Class, Image Collage
— Amy Chin, Best in Show/Best in Class, Digital Composite Image
— Janja Watson, Best in Show/Best in Class, Promotional/e-Commerce
— Steven Beadles, Best in Show, Special Education: Fine Art
