Art studio hosts hands-on party

CARLSBAD — An unusual community art project will begin at 6 p.m. May 15, as studio/gallery owner Bryan Snyder of Snyder Art and Design at 2695 State St. in Carlsbad Village, celebrates his studio’s third anniversary.
Plans are to have more than two dozen blank canvases, in varying sizes and shapes, scattered across the studio/gallery walls of Snyder Art and Design. A center table will be loaded with brushes, pastels, markers, paints, crayons, charcoal and a wide variety of other art supplies.
Then, as a way for Snyder to thank friends, family and the community for three years of support, he is inviting all the show’s attendees to participate in the creative process. The show’s artwork will be created that night by all who attend, surrounded by live music and food.
All artwork will be available through a silent auction, which will run the duration of the night. Half of the proceeds will be donated to the proposed Carlsbad Village Skateboard Museum, Skate Park and Action Arts Center.
