VISTA — The second Kites Over Vista public sculpture exhibit in downtown Vista is available for sale. The sculptures, on display for the past 11 months, will be removed in May when the third exhibit of sculptures will go on display. The official unveiling of the third exhibit will take place during the Strawberry Festival on May 30.
The kite sculptures available for purchase include Mindy Rodman and Paul White’s “Miro Kite” available for $3,200; Robert Maya’s “Magic Kite Ride” for $18,000; Benjamin Lavender’s “Kite of Paradise” for $6,000; Buddy Smith’s “Calder Revisited” available for $11,500; Josh Bowman’s “Round and Round We Go” for $17,500; Robert Rochin’s “Flock of Kites” for $12,000; and Melissa Ralston’s “Wind Goddess” for $3,500. Charles Bronson’s sculpture “Dance of the Butterfly” has been sold. All pricing is set by the artist and may be negotiable.

The purpose of the Public Arts Commission is to promote and support the public display and appreciation of art in the city of Vista.
