CARLSBAD — The Carlsbad Senior Center, 799 Pine Ave., is looking out for the health of area seniors in March.
Reminding all that the Medicare Open Enrollment period ends March 31, Senior Security Insurance Services, or SSIS, will be at the center from 10 to 11:30 a.m. March 19 to discuss some important changes to the Medicare Advantage and Part D plans for the upcoming New Year.

Are you finding yourself feeling unsteady or losing your balance? Have you had a fall or are you afraid of falling? For people over the age of 65, falling is the number one reason people are admitted to the hospital and is the leading cause of injury. Without good balance, your risk of falling increases significantly.
If you are interested in testing your balance, In-Home Therapy Services of San Diego is offering free personal 10-minute balance screenings from 9 to 11 a.m. March 25, using a Biodex Balance Platform that can measure your static balance.
Call (760) 602-4650 to reserve a 10-minute screening.
