Gunmen rob Carlsbad discount store

CARLSBAD — Two gunmen robbed a Carlsbad Village discount store at about 8 p.m. on Jan. 13. No injuries were reported.
Carlsbad police received a call of an armed robbery from an employee of the Carlsbad Discount Store located at 1005 Carlsbad Village Drive. The employee called to report that two suspects had robbed his store at gunpoint.
The employee told police that the two suspects entered the store for a few minutes and walked around. They exited the store and re-entered a few minutes later. The two suspects then approached the clerk and each drew a black semi-automatic handgun.
One of the suspects told the clerk to “give me all your cash.” The employee complied and gave an undisclosed amount to the suspects. They utilized a bag from the store to put the cash in and left on foot towards Oak Avenue.
The first suspect was described as a 25-year-old black male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, and wearing a white coat with a hood with black designs. The second suspect was described as a 25-year-old white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, with a shaved head and tattoos on his neck, wearing a brown suede jacket. The second suspect has severe acne.
This is the second robbery reported in the Carlsbad Village area in less than a week. An armed man attempted to rob the Valero gas station at 920 Carlsbad Village Drive on Jan. 9.
