CARLSBAD — The city of Carlsbad reminds drivers of the following road closures and no parking zones in and around the Bike MS Bay to Bay Tour course on Oct. 16, from approximately 6 to 9 a.m. and on Oct. 17, from approximately 6 to 9:30 a.m.
Lane closures:
Northbound lane of Monroe Street north of Marron Road (just south of the mall transit center)
Bike lane closure on southbound Jefferson between Home and Grand Avenue
Westbound lane of Grand Avenue from Jefferson Street to Carlsbad Boulevard (Sunday only)
No parking:
Westbound lane of Grand Avenue from Jefferson Street to Carlsbad Boulevard
Southbound Jefferson Street from Marron Road to Las Flores
Southbound Jefferson Street from Home Avenue to Grand Avenue
Carlsbad Boulevard between Cherry Avenue and Redwood Avenue
General parking for the event is available at the Plaza Camino Real Shopping Mall. Volunteer, event staff and disabled parking is available at Plaza Camino Real Shopping Mall, west of Sears.
The city of Carlsbad Police Department and event volunteers will assist cars needing to get in or out of closed or partially closed areas, when safety allows. Those who need to get in or out of the event area during the event may do so on a nearby street not affected by event closures.
The Bike MS Bay to Bay tour goes from Orange County to San Diego County. Cyclists at all levels of expertise compete in a 30, 100 or 150 mile ride in support of a world free of multiple sclerosis, the most common neurological disorder leading to disability in young adults.
Approximately 2,600 participants spectators are expected, which helps to support the local economy and promote a healthy, outdoor lifestyle.
