VISTA — President Barack Obama recently announced that more than $600 million in Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds will be distributed to community health centers, including $11.5 million to Vista Community Clinic, or VCC.
Funding will help VCC renovate and expand the Vale Terrace Branch into a 24,000-square-foot facility. VCC is a private nonprofit healthcare provider.
“We are thrilled,” CEO Barbara Mannino said. “Every day we see more people coming to us without health insurance. With this funding, we will be able to expand our services and provide medical care to those who need it.” Only 85 grants were awarded nationally.
