Free fall environmental events offered

COAST CITIES — Solana Center for Environmental Innovation will be offering free community events this fall.
An electronic waste collection is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon for Nov. 14, celebrating America Recycles Day at The Solana Center for Environmental Innovation, 137 N. El Camino Real, Encinitas, just past the Sheriff’s station at Via Molena. The event is co-sponsored by the city of Encinitas.
A free composting workshop will be offered from noon to 2 p.m. Dec. 5 at Yoga Swami 912 S. Coast Highway 101, Encinitas. Learn the basics of composting and vermicomposting (using worms) at the class taught by Solana Center’s Master composters and co-sponsored by the city of Encinitas.
Discounted compost bins will be for sale Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Solana Center, 137 N. El Camino Real, Encinitas. The cities of Encinitas and Carlsbad subsidize the cost of the bins for their residents, books and information are also available.
