Oceanside Police arrest homicide suspect

OCEANSIDE — Oceanside Police Detectives have a suspect in custody for the early morning homicide that occurred July 13 in the 100 block of Pacific Street.
At 2:33am, police were called to 118 South Pacific Street regarding reports of a man down and unresponsive. Police and fire personnel arrived at the apartment complex and found the 23-year-old victim deceased from an apparent wound to the victim’s neck area.
In the early part of the investigation, police were able to locate witnesses at the apartment complex. Evidence and information obtained throughout the day lead police to arrest 29-year-old Oceanside resident Kade Kundrat. Kundrat is a resident at the apartment complex where the crime occurred.
Detectives are still working out preliminary information as to the cause of the crime, and a search of the suspect’s apartment is ongoing.
Kundrat was booked into the Sheriff’s Detention Facility in Vista on one count of murder.
