ANGELS AT WORK

Contemporary Women of North County, or CWONC, held its Mother’s Day Tea, with mothers, daughters and friends sharing a sunny afternoon of tea and treats served by local high school students. Special guests included, from left, Soldiers’ Angels representatives Caren Vink, Ana Marie Smith and Dee Jerge, welcomed by CWONC President Linda Bridges. The club presented baskets of baby clothes and other needed baby items to Soldiers’ Angels as part of CWONC’s Operation Top Knot, which provides assistance to the troops and their families. Soldiers’ Angels is a volunteer-based, nonprofit organization supporting all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. Proceeds from the tea will benefit programs sponsored by CWONC, including Soldiers’ Angels, college scholarships for local high school senior girls and special events for the children at Casa de Amparo.
