Republican Women enlist ‘Star’ power

RANCHO SANTA FE — More than 100 members of the Rancho Santa Fe Republican Women, including many husbands and guests, filled the clubhouse at the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Course on March 18 to hear special celebrity guest speaker Star Parker. Her speech was titled “Our Country in Peril.”
Parker, a political conservative and activist, is the founder and president of Coalation of Urban Renewal and Education, or CURE, a nonprofit think-tank that provides a national voice on race and poverty in the media. She is the author of three books including, “Pimps, Whores and Welfare Brats.” In her early life, Parker was involved with drugs, crime, welfare abuse and had several abortions. Through the power of the Gospel, she is now at the forefront of the Christian conservative movement. Her conservative views have clashed with several hostesses on ABC’s “The View” when she appeared on the program in the past. Nevertheless, she is a sought-after speaker.
“This is such a feather
in our cap to have Star speak to our group,” Susan Woolley, president of the Rancho Santa Fe Republican Women, said. “I was so delighted when she accepted our invitation.”
The following morning, March 19, several members of the group gathered for target practice and sharp shooting at the American Shooting Center in Kearney Mesa. Known as the “Lady Shooters,” they are learning sharp-shooting skills in a safe, protected environment. Jody “Lady Shooter” Bray has extended an invitation to men as well and encourages everyone to carpool. For more information about the next “Lady Shooter” event, contact Jody Bray at (858) 756-1906.
