College presents music, drums workshops and performance

OCEANSIDE — Drummer and pop singer Sheila E will be performing at MiraCosta College in January.
Sheila E will join the MiraCosta College Latin Jazz Ensemble, directed by Mario Gonzales, for two performances at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 30 and Jan. 31 in the MiraCosta College Theatre, 1 Barnard Drive. Her work was included in the soundtrack to “Prince of Egypt,” featuring Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, and on Gloria Estefan’s “Mi Tierra.”
Sheila E will also hold a master clinic on drumming and percussion at 2 p.m. Jan. 30 in the MiraCosta College Theatre. Registration is free for MiraCosta and local high school students and $10 for general admission. Register online at www.mclatinjazz.org.
