Childhelp charity hosts holiday fundraiser

CARLSBAD — The San Diego Chapter of Childhelp will be hosting its 22nd annual Holiday Fantasia fundraiser Dec. 5 at the Four Seasons Aviara Hotel.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., guests will enjoy a gourmet lunch while viewing a children’s fashion show and shopping. In addition, designer table-top holiday trees will be for sale. There will also be silent and opportunity drawings.
The emcee, Andrea Naversen, will be presenting the annual “For the Love of a Child” award to Gayle Fulbright. This award goes to a San Diego individual or couple, who has demonstrated a high commitment to helping children.
Childhelp provides comprehensive medical care and counseling after they leave an abusive home. The goal of Childhelp is to stop the epidemic of child abuse and neglect and provide loving care for the children who are the victims. From the proceeds of this year’s event, 40 percent will go to the San Diego Center in the Family Recovery Center. The next 35 percent will go to the Village of Childhelp in Beaumont. The remaining 25 percent will support the 24-hour national hotline at (800) 4-A-CHILD or (800)-422-4453. For tickets, contact Jeanette Arthur at (619) 295- 0121.
