CARLSBAD — The public is invited to join the 26th annual “Carlsbad Rotary Oktoberfest” from 1 to
10 p.m. Oct. 4 at Holiday Park.
The community event features German food, German music, dancing, and a host of children’s activities, including a pumpkin patch, facing painting and a Moon Jump. There will be live music from 5 to 10 p.m. and a German dinner from 1 to 8 p.m., including two German sausages, German potatoes, cabbage and a roll.
German Dinner tickets are $10 at the park or can be purchased in advance from any Carlsbad Rotarian, at www.rotaryoktoberfest.org or at:
— Al’s Café in the Village, 795 Carlsbad Village Drive, Carlsbad
— Carlsbad Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, 400 Carlsbad Village Drive, Carlsbad
— Boys & Girls Club of Carlsbad, 3115 Roosevelt St., Carlsbad
— Women’s Resource Center, 1963 Apple St., Oceanside
Due to limited local parking, this year a free shuttle bus will be available from Westfield Plaza Camino Real. Board the shuttle at the southwest corner of the mall parking lot, near Sears. First shuttle leaves the mall at 12:45 p.m. and the last shuttle returns from the park at 10:15 p.m.
The event is organized by the Rotary Club of Carlsbad and the Carlsbad Hi-Noon Rotary Club and has raised more than $1.2 million (with zero administrative costs) for local charities since its inception. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad and the Women’s Resource Center each receive 25 percent of the proceeds, and the two sponsoring Rotary Clubs each receive 25 percent to support local charities, scholarships and other Rotary community projects.
