SAN MARCOS — Dr. August Nimtz will discuss contemporary civil rights issues at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 30 in Room 113 of the Clarke Field House at Cal State San Marcos.
Nimtz is a professor of political science and African and African-American studies at the University of Minnesota where he is known for bringing passion and a sense of purpose to his classes. He encourages students to become active citizens who are critically engaged with the world around them.
The presentation is part of the Cal State Arts & Lectures Series, a cross section of artistic, cultural and scholarly events. The series seeks to invoke, provoke and support learning for students and the community.
