Ratepayers out of the fire, for now
SAN DIEGO — The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) voted unanimously to deny SDG&E’s proposal to recoup the costs of the 2007 wildfires from ratepayers.
SDG&E continues to seek recovery costs
SAN DIEGO — San Diego ratepayers may be billed for hundreds of millions of dollars in expenses from the 2007 wildfires and also for costs of wildfires to come pending the request of SDG&E and Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) to raise utility rates.
CPUC hears from all sides during rate proceedings
SAN DIEGO — The CPUC’s (California Public Utilities Commission) continued its hearing into SDG&E’s request to establish a Wildfire Expense Balancing Account (WEBA) for the recovery of uninsured 2007 wildfire–related costs by holding two public participation hearings April 5.
