I am really concerned about how much traffic is increasing on Neptune and at very high speeds. We walk this street a lot with small children and it's always been a safe pedestrian friendly street. I propose we get speed bumps and also have those speed signs that check people's speed so they're more aware of how fast they are going. Thanks for considering this and perhaps doing another article on this concern.

The city's engineers measurement of 101 just north of Phoebe St., by Caldwells shop, is only 29.6 feet in width of roadway. In the StreetSCAM CARTOON in the City's website, they show there being 43 feet of roadway at this exact point of the roadway of 101!HA
Where are they going to get the extra ( 43 - 29.6 = 13.4 ) 13.4 feet that they are depicting in the StreetSCAM?
The median is currently 17.1 feet but in the StreetSCAM it shows it to be 13 feet!
There was a 4 foot non-travel lane going north which is not included in the city's engineering drawing of the lane-diet!
So, lets see 4.1 feet from the median, 4 feet from the non-travel lane going north, that is 8.1 feet.
So, 8.1 feet created + 29.6 feet existing = 37.7 feet of roadway going south which will be enough to provide for two 11 foot car travel lanes and the 15 feet for the angle parking that the merchants/developers of L101MA want so BADLY to increase their pocket books, regardless of the SAFETY issues that will befall ALL of the people that live in Leucadia, the people that visit our beaches, the people in SD County, and in our great state.

The 7 foot bike lane, as proposed going south, is not going to be built since the SHARROWS are going in, and the 20 feet on the north travel roadway will barely meet the Emergency Vehicle Response MINIMUM requirement.

The FOUR traffic circles, the merging of the one car lane and the bikes at the 4 traffic circles, and the numerous pedestrian cross walks will slow traffic down to a stand still.. This stretch of the roadway will not be an open roadway. It will be just the opposite, blocked w/ interferences everywhere to slow down traffic to a dead crawl, increasing the time that you will SIT, and SIT, and SIT, and SIT in traffic, by 200% in comparison to what it is now! It will have these circular after circular after circular and more circular MAJOR interferences to S-L-O-W the motorist and the bicyclist down, due to plus the HAWK pedestrian crosswalks and the congestion of all the cars in 1 lane versus 2 lanes!

Since $28,000 dollars are going to be spent on the SHARROWS for south 101, now they will not build the dedicated 7 foot Class II Bike Lane going south as promised in the STREETSCAM !

We can keep the two north bound travel lanes, and can still provide for a Class II Bike lane of 6.5 feet by using the 4.1 feet from the median for the north side of the road, and not for angled parking on the south side of the 101 roadway.
