Young artists come together to remember Ariana

SOLANA BEACH — Young musicians from around the county will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 10 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 424 Via de la Valle, to raise money against complex congenital heart disease at the third annual Heart of a Child concert. Proceeds will benefit the Ariana Fund, a nonprofit organization formed in 2008 in memory of Ariana Miller, a 13-year-old Encinitas girl who died from the disease that year while waiting for a heart transplant.Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for refreshments and a silent auction. Tickets, at $25 each general admission and $15 students, can be purchased at the door or online at thearianafund.org.

This year’s performers will include:

— Bunnell Strings: Siblings Keren, Kimberly, Corrie, Cara and Ross Bunnell play violins, viola, cello and bass.

— String Sparks: Keil and Heidi Fleischbein, 17 and 14, of Clairemont play cello, violin, viola, and organ, but will be playing harp for the concert.

— Wesley I. Soo Hoo: Currently attending UC Irvine, the Carlsbad resident is a classical pianist.

— Summer Blinco: The soprano attends Palomar College, has been active in musical theater since she was 12.

— Sadie Duca: A fourth-grader from Carlsbad, sings, plays piano and writes music.

— Megan Spector: The 12-year-old lives in Carmel Valley and has been in many musical theater productions.

— Remy Margaret Corbin: Is a third-grader from San Marcos

— Alexis Louise Young: The Escondido girl, 17, has worked with many youth and professional theater companies in the county.

— Daniel Myers: A solo vocalist who lives in San Diego, attends USC and has performed with the San Diego Symphony and the San Diego Opera.

— J*Company On The Town, young musicians from around the county serve as ambassadors for the J*Company Youth Theatre in San Diego.

— Hal and Lindsey Grant: Lindsey, a high school senior, lives in Encinitas, has appeared in several J*Company productions. She was a friend of Ariana’s when they both attended Olivenhain Pioneer Elementary School.
