COAST CITIES — “Special Hugs” is the theme for this year’s Brother Benno’s Auxiliary luncheon in memory of Kay Kutler, co-founder of Brother Benno Foundation, who died this year.It will be held at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 1 at the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa, 5480 Grand Pacific Drive, Carlsbad. Co-Presidents Vikki Ramey and Alicia Sullivan have arranged lunch, door prizes, centerpieces, opportunity baskets and silent auction items. Music will be provided by Laurel Beale, a Celtic harpist, playing favorite holiday tunes throughout the day.

Proceeds from this fundraising event will go directly to supporting the two Brother Benno houses in Oceanside that shelter homeless women with children and women in recovery program for sober living.

Tickets are $50 and donations are also welcomed from those who cannot attend. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis. For tickets and information, contact Vera Bayliss at (760) 295-0059.
