I was offended by the off-handed remarks by council majority members that made fun of the Grand Jury report and communicated that they were going to do whatever they wanted--regardless of this formal legal process. This is an actual problem for Leucadia residents!

The fact that they took funds designated for repairing this drainage issue and preserving open space and put it into the the Hall Property Park project and it many years of accrued interest that we have paid with no benefit is REALLY 'water down the drain!'

The city has implemented some fixes for the continuing flossing issues that have helped.
It was presented that the coastal commission would not allow a larger pipe than what was installed to drain to the lagoon. A larger pipe was recommended at the time and if installed may have been more of a benefit. As it was revealed, the coastal commission was never asked by the city for a larger pipe as the city indicated.. I talked to the coastal commission and a reporter at the time and it was confirmed at a council meeting that a larger pipe was not installed for economic reasons and not because of the coastal commission.
