Being in possession of marjiuana in San Diego County without a medical marijuana card will result in a $100 fine. I have yet to hear of marijuana "prohibition", I have heard of war on drugs. Which includes marijuana but also cocaine, methampetamine, heroin, LSD, PCP, and MDMA. I don't know about you, Jillian, but I do want my taxpayer money to go to combating these other drugs flooding our country. As far as lowering taxes and building schools...That would be great, all we need is the politicians to stop buying $3,000 toilet seats, and funding absurd programs in this state and put the money to better use.

How can people be driving under the influence of marijuana when marijuana's been kept illegal in this country for more than seventy years? Are you saying that the federal marijuana prohibition doesn't work?

It's a pretty big deal if you are because the prohibition costs us taxpayers $40 Billion every year and causes the arrest of 850,000 people each year plus the brutal death of more than 10,000 people in Mexico every year. If the prohibition doesn't work then why are we paying for it? And if choosing to relax with marijuana instead of alcohol doesn't cause any victims then why is it a crime?

Wouldn't it be better to spend that money on building schools and lowering our taxes instead of on a prohibition that doesn't work and which causes far more harm than it prevents? Drug dealers don't card - supermarkets do, and if we want to keep marijuana away from our young people then it seems that the best way is by allowing stores to sell legally-grown marijuana to adults at prices low enough to prevent illegal competition.
