DEL MAR – It was a night of smiles for the San Diego Sockers as the team won easily against the Tijuana Revolucion 13-2 Saturday night in front of a home crowd of 2,428.

In what many thought would be one of the tougher matches on the season, the Sockers came out strong early with Diego Rovira starting off the scoring. The Sockers had a 9-0 lead at halftime, with Kraig Chiles scoring his 100th goal, which set the Professional Arena Soccer League record for goals. Chiles finished the night with four goals and an assist. With only three games left in the regular season, Chiles is only seven points away from breaking the league record for single-season points.

Team co-captain Nate Hetherington also scored his first goal of the season. Captain Aaron Susi had three assists with a goal scored.

With the win, the Sockers continue their undefeated season; the team hasn’t lost a game since Dec. 27, 2010.

The Sockers will next compete in the FIFRA Championships, an international competition held in Monterrey, Mexico before returning home to take on the Phoenix Monsoon Feb. 11.
