The current proposed building isn't compatible with a residential area. In 2007 a 1750 sq.ft. 18 tall building with 20 parking spaces was proposed as a Starbucks for the site. That plan was never finished. With a new property owner came a new plan of a 3669 sq.ft. 26-30 feet tall building divided into 3 stores with a total of only 26 parking spaces. There is little on street parking. Where do the employees park? The ex-fire chief turned Councilman Muir ignored the need of a study about emergency response rates and how much the rates will increase with traffic jams at that commercial center. So much for public safety from the ex-fire chief. But he did want to see larger trees planted.

I just read this story and noticed that while it has only been posted for 6 hours, its number of views is showing over 3,000 views. That's over 500 views an hour. So this is either the most popular story the Coast News has ever written or they are intentionally spilling their views to give the appearance of a higher readership than actually exists. As a web administrator myself, I vote for the intentional spiking story. Shame on you Coast News.
