ENCINITAS — The body of a man discovered near Moonlight Beach Aug. 26 has been identified as Jose Luis Quiroz, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Encinitas sheriffs closed the park and adjacent section of Encinitas Boulevard at the corner of Coast Highway 101 while investigators determined cause of death.
Investigators ruled the man’s death was from natural causes.
When the body was found, it was badly decomposed, said San Diego County Sheriff Lt. Larry Nesbit.
As of Aug. 29, the man’s family has been notified. An autopsy is still pending.
